The WaterCAMPWS is committed to creating a diverse and highly qualified pool of undergraduate students who are prepared for graduate studies in water purification and technology. An important part of that goal is to provide them with personal, one-on-one guidance from faculty advisors and graduate student mentors.

Currently, members of the WaterCAMPWS SLC are involved in mentoring the 15 students involved in the Research Experience for Undergraduates. REU students are paired with graduate student mentors, and become involved in the research of ICT I, ICT II, or ICT III. Graduate student mentors aid the REU students in their research experiences which culminate in a 25-page, publishable, research paper. REU students are also encourage by their mentors to participate in SLC activities, professional development sessions, and WaterCAMPWS seminars.
